Delete my account

If you have the app

The quickest way is to do it from the app itself:

• Open GiftMeThis and sign in.
• Go to Settings and tap Delete account.
• Confirm the deletion. We will sign you out immediately.

What is deleted and when

When you delete your account, it stays pending deletion for 30 days. During that period you can restore it by signing up again with the same email. After 30 days a full purge takes place:

• your account data (email, display name and language), the children you added, your events, your gifts, their images, the sharing links and the reservations of your events are deleted;
• your support queries are anonymised;
• your sign-in user is removed from Firebase from the moment of deletion.

Relative email deleted and reservations anonymised 30 days after the event is archived (or after its date). Archived events deleted after 24 months. Deleted account: full purge after 30 days.

If you do not have the app or cannot sign in

Request the deletion from the support form, with the My account category already selected. Write in the message that you want to delete your account and give the email you registered with (the same one you will use in the form). We will check that the request is yours and reply by email. You can also write to us directly at support@giftmethis.app.

If you are a relative who reserved a gift

You have no account, so there is nothing to delete. To cancel a reservation, open the private management link you saved (or that reached you by email) and press Cancel reservation; the gift will become available again for the rest of the family.

If you left your email when reserving, it is deleted automatically 30 days after the event is archived (or after its date) and the reservations are anonymised. If you want us to delete it sooner, ask through the support form.
